Dr. Montero is the first female Plastic Surgeon to practice in Austin. Dr. Montero has established her private practice in 1990 and has continued to progressively grow a successful and busy practice.
Karin Montero, M.D., FACS is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and specialized in Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Surgery. The goal of her office is to provide a "whole body-whole person" experience of Aesthetic Surgery that comprehensively treats each patient in a confidential and relaxed environment.
Dr. Karin Montero practices with a holistic approach. She evaluates her patients thoroughly, both medically and psychologically. She credits the help of a wonderful and caring staff, skilled in appropriate counseling and different massage techniques (Swedish, Lymphatic drainage), touch healing (Reiki) and Reflexology. She also has the Endermologie system that helps mobilize connective tissue, increases circulation and decreases the appearance of cellulite. A full range of skin care is available through an in-house Aesthetician, with microdermabrasion used to improve sun damage to face, neck and chest.
Dr. Montero diligently gives back to the community in many ways. She is a regular participant in Austin smiles, a non-profit organization providing reconstructive plastic surgery, primarily cleft lip and palate repairs to the children of Austin and surrounding areas. And each year, she donates at least one week of her time and services with cleft lip and palate repairs to children in third world countries.
Her "whole body-whole person" approach helps patients heal faster, feeling safe and secure in being surrounded by a caring group of professionals who are experts in their field. The mission of the practice is to ensure that all aspects of the pre-op preparation, surgery and recovery are as pleasant as possible.
