Jeannette Martello, M.D.

Dr. Jeannette Martello is a caring and gifted Physician, specialized in cosmetic plastic surgery. She holds degrees from Stanford and the University of California at Berkeley and was privileged to be part of the U.S. Hand Transplant Team that performed the first hand transplant in the country.

Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Martello has both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and received her medical degree from University of California and Los Angeles (U.C.L.A). She was a member of the distinguished Grossman Society and was awarded the Hyde Scholarship as the most promising female medical student entering the field of surgery. She trained at the prestigious Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital and was the first resident accepted by the University of Kentucky for entry into the highly competitive training programs for both general and plastic surgery.

After completing her plastic surgery training, Dr. Martello was accepted as a hand fellow at the world-renowned Kleinert Institute in Louisville. She was a member of the United States Hand Transplant Team that prepared for the first ever hand transplant in the country. She represented the team in presentations in Indianapolis, Vancouver, Minneapolis and Hawaii.

Practicing safe medicine in a mutual partnership with a patient is of great importance to Dr. Martello. She believes in informing her patients fully about their treatment and care. The Medical Board of California chose Dr. Martello as the medical consultant with the Enforcement Division's Probation Unit. Dr. Martello was personally selected by respected television news anchor, Paul Moyer, to be the medical and legal expert for an investigative report on ABC News entitled Disciplining Doctors.

Dr. Martello was very upfront and honest and she is very dedicated to her work and makes sure that the patient is happy with the results as well as she. She is extremely professional, is a perfectionist and her surgical skills are such that experienced minimal swelling and virtually no bruising.  The patient recovers from surgery with only the use of over the counter Tylenol and had under the muscle breast implant surgery. My under the breast incision scars are almost nonexistent, resembling a faint pencil line. Dr. Martello is excellent at what she does.
