James P Anthony, MD, Facs
Dr. Anthony received his M.D. from Stony Brook University. He completed his General Surgery residency at the N.Y. Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and his Plastic Surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Anthony is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. As a member of the faculty at UCSF for over 12 years, he performed many complex reconstructive procedures for patients with facial and breast cancer in addition to performing Cosmetic Plastic Surgery
He specializes in cosmetic Plastic Surgery, and he has helped many patients feel confident about themselves and their appearance. Dr. Anthony has been listed as one of America's Top Surgeons since 2002. He has also been selected as one of the Top Doctors in the Pacific Region.
Dr. Anthony developed and improved several techniques for facial and breast reconstruction, work that he has presented at Plastic Surgery conferences nationally and internationally in over 70 written papers and 60 presentations. After training over forty plastic surgeons, he opened his private office.
Dr. Anthony is a member of the Ethics Committee for the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery as well as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Pacific Coast Surgical Society. In his experience, he has found that many patients considering Plastic Surgery have actually thought about having a particular procedure for months and even years. For many, once they have Plastic Surgery, not only do they look better but, even more importantly, they feel better about themselves
Plastic Surgery is actually more of a process which begins with the initial consultation. During this consultation, Dr. Anthony listens carefully so that he can understand what each patient really wants. He creates a surgical plan to improve the areas that they want to change. Dr. Anthony also provides all the details of the planned procedure, explain how to prepare for surgery and what to expect. During surgery, he takes the greatest care to ensure that every patient gets the best result that my hands, heart, mind and training can give them. After surgery, he makes sure his patients are taken care of just as he, his self, would like to be cared for.
