Gerald Minniti, M.D.

Dr. Gerald Minniti, M.D., completed his internship at (USC) University of Southern California in general surgery. He finished his General Surgery residency training at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He subsequently completed his Plastic Surgery residency there as well and completed an aesthetic surgery fellowship with Baker, Stuzin and Baker in Miami and came back to Brown University in his final year as an instructor in surgery.

Gerald Minniti inspiration for becoming a surgeon came through a fictitional character named Captain Hawkeye Pierce, the character played by Alan Alda on the television show. On the surface, Hawkeye was lighthearted and affable, but beneath was a compassionate, competent doctor devoted to his work. This lasting impression has stayed with him throughout his life and career.

He strives to achieve a look of balance and natural beauty to the surgical result. To achieve this he seriously analyzes the facial and body proportions so that he can tailor the surgery to their individual needs. He does not believe in cookie cutter, one size fits all surgery. Being an expert in the technical and artistic aspects of the surgery is clearly primary to this, but as the surgeon he believes in being their advocate and guide to a healthier lifestyle.

He uses the latest techniques for best results. He specializes in the latest technique of breast augmentation called the transumbilical technique. Through a small incision in the belly button, tunnels are created just under the skin up to the breasts. A pocket is created under the muscle below the breasts, where implants are placed. At left is an example of the minimalistic scar left by this procedure.

He strives to be the surgeon of choice by providing a service that is, caring, friendly and complete. Their office setting is professional yet informal, and lends itself to a comfortable feeling and a warm doctor-patient relationship. His utmost respect for patient and their particular needs is essential. Attentive listening allows him to identify their goals and create the correct care plan. Fastidious attention to detail begins with the consultation, is executed in the operating room and continues through their follow up care. He fully commits himself to delivering the best possible results to each of his patients.
