E. Richard Parker MD

Dr. Richard Parker was born in Seattle, Washington. He completed his high school and undergraduate schooling in Dallas and Waco, Texas. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas. Dr. Parker then continued his medical training at John Sealy Hospital, completing his internship and residency in general surgery.  For additional advanced training in general surgery he entered the program at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio completing the program in June 1973. From there he entered the plastic surgery program and completed his residency in June 1975 at the University of Missouri.
 
Dr. Parker is a member of numerous medical associations and societies and received appointments as Chair of the Disaster Committee and the Mediation Committee of the Travis County Medical Society. He is also a former member of the Socio-Economic Committee and Inter-professional Committee of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgeons, former member of the board of directors for the Special Olympics, founder member of the Austin Smiles and chair of the Central Texas Cleft Palate Team.

Dr. Parker offers a comfortable and relaxed setting with modern technology in cosmetic surgery. During the consultation, Dr. Parker will thoroughly discuss both external improvements and internal structural corrections that may be of benefit.  Dr. Parker believes the art and skill of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery should be combined to achieve a natural result.  By being a good listener during the consultation, Dr. Parker is able to understand the desires and then achieve the goals surgically.

The surgery will be performed in a certified ambulatory surgical center.  Grandview Cosmetic Plastic Surgery and Laser Center was opened in l980, and has modern equipment such as the Erbium Laser, CO2 ultrapulse laser and endoscopic equipment.  Dr. Parker and his staff struggle to treat each patient as if they were family. 
 
Dr. Parker has written and presented papers on various areas of plastic surgery over the years. It is the desire that leave their practice feeling more confident and knowledgeable about cosmetic surgery and the benefits that it can provide to improve the quality of life.
