Nose Surgery

Nasal surgery has become the part of the life of the people with every year a thousands of people are doing the surgery for cosmetic purposes. It also improves or cures nasal breathing problems, correcting deformities from birth or injury and dropping nose problems.

Aesthetic nasal surgery (rhinoplasty) improves the shape of the nose and nose is the most important facial feature in the face, even a slight change can greatly refines the appearance it has.

Nasal surgery or rhinoplasty usually takes an hour, although complicated procedures may take longer to finish the surgery. During surgery, the skin of the nose is separated from its supporting framework of bone and cartilage, which is then sculpted to the desired shape. The nature of the sculpting depends on the problem and the surgeon's preferred technique. At last the skin is refaced over the new framework. All rhinoplasties are done with the closed technique, avoiding a scar on the bottom of the nose. Usually the external nasal dressings and splints are removed within five to seven days after the surgery.

Manifestly displaced bones, surgeons often attempt to return the nasal bones to a straighter position under local or general anesthesia. This is usually done within seven to ten days after injury, so that the bones don't heal in a displaced position. Displacement due to injury often results in compromised breathing, so corrective nasal surgery, typically septorhinoplasty, may then be elected. This procedure is typically done on an outpatient basis and patients are usually trying to avoid their public appearance due to swelling and bruising..

Many plastic surgeons perform rhinoplasty from within the nose, making their incision inside the nostrils. Some people prefers an open procedure, especially in more complicated cases, they make a small incision across the collumella, the vertical strip of tissue separating the nostrils.

Generally the surgery can cause infection, pain, and delayed wound healing, bleeding, reactions to anesthetic. Smoking greatly increases many of these risks. Therefore, the patient is asked to stop smoking before and after the surgery.

The surgical changes are made to enhance the remaining facial features and emphasize the individual's unique and natural facial beauty. A respective plastic surgeon can describe the facial features that make unique and describe the changes that would enhance the appearance. The rhinoplasty surgery can improve self image and confidence.
