Chin Surgery Cost

Chin surgery is known as mentoplasty. Chin plastic surgery is a procedure that aims at either reshaping the chin either by enhancement with an implant or it's a reduction surgery on the bone.

Plastic surgery costs can vary widely from surgeon to surgeon due to a number of factors. Surgeons adjust surgery costs based on expertise and experience, as well as the length and complexity of the procedure. Plastic surgery costs should be fully disclosed and agreed to up front, prior to any surgical procedure. Some advertised Plastic surgery costs might appear lower because they reflect only the cost of the procedure, while other plastic surgery costs include the anesthesia, the pre- and postoperative exams and even corrective surgery. Many times the advertised plastic surgery cost does not include the additional costs or there may be hidden fees. Plastic surgery costs are usually not covered by regular medical insurance, but a number of ways to pay plastic surgery costs also exist.

Injection that are used to perform a chin augmentation usually don't require a surgical team, general anesthesia or operating room, which means that the cost for this form of chin augmentation can be significantly lower than the expense of surgery. However, the cost of the products used in injectable chin augmentation can be higher. Very often patients choose their surgeon on the basis of price. Cosmetic surgery is very affordable in the Philippines and costs are much lower when compared to the United States and other countries. However, since the success of surgery is largely dependent on choice of surgeon, cost should not be the main consideration for decision to undergo cosmetic surgery. To avoid unsatisfactory results, it is best to choose a surgeon who has completed an accredited residency training program in plastic and reconstructive surgery. One should have extensive experience in the procedure. Though it is understandable that price is one of the considerations for the choice of surgeon, it is important to remember that the main consideration should be surgeon's professional qualifications and experience.

As per the reports of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the national average fee for chin augmentation may range from $2,500 to $5,000 including anesthesia and other additional charges.
