About Dr. Jourdan Gottlieb
Dr. Jourdan Gottlieb was a practicing academic trauma surgeon when he began his plastic surgery training at Northwestern University in Chicago. He moved to Seattle to join the faculty at the University of Washington in 1985, and five years later began a private practice in Seattle; first at Elan Plastic Surgery, and now at Plastic Surgery Seattle.
He has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1988, and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the America College of Surgeons, and numerous local medical organizations. He has a wide interest and experience in aesthetic surgery, with particular interest in breast and body contour surgery.
Dr. Gottlieb's experience includes five years as a faculty member of the plastic surgery division of the University of Washington School of Medicine. He practiced at University Hospital in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Gottlieb received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, and completed his surgical and plastic surgery training at Northwestern University in Illinois.

****When you're looking for a new doctor, the best way to find one is often through a recommendation. Wouldn't you like to know who the professionals recommend?
That's just who Seattle Magazine asked in their Top Doctors Survey. Seattle Magazine sent confidential surveys to 5,000 randomly selected physicians, registered nurses and complementary health-care-providers in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties (with the list provided by NameFinders List, Inc., a local list retailer), asking them to name the provider they would recommend in 51 specialty areas and four areas of alternative and complementary medicine, regardless of their hospital, clinic, or health-plan affiliations. Seattle Magazine then compiled the results, and for each specialty calculated a proportional percentage based on the total number of physicians in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. The number they came up with for each specialty (e.g., 3 percent of all doctors in the three-county areas are dermatologists) determined how many physicians were named as winners in each specialty category- thus there are eight winners in family practice medicine, but only four winners in geriatrics.
Seattle Magazine then contacted all of the providers who made their final list, and requested that they share some basic information: where they were trained, where they practice, career achievements.
They also wanted to make sure that all professionals listed are in good standing, so they checked each name with the Washington State Department of Health. Everyone included was in good standing at the time they went to print- but you can double-check before you visit any practitioner by going to doh.wa.gov, and clicking on the "provider credential search" link. Seattle Magazine's final list obviously isn't exhaustive. They know there are some wonderful providers out there who, for whatever reason, aren't included. They can say, however, that they cast their net far and wide in search of the best.
