His past professional appointments include Chief of Otolaryngology at Cambridge Hospital, Consultant for Harvard University Health Services, and four-time President of the Double Boarded Society. The American Medical Association has also awarded Dr. Metzner the Physician's Recognition Award on four different occasions.
