"Mommy Makeovers" Rising in Popularity in U.S.

The newest gimmick in encouraging Americans to undergo cosmetic surgery and non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the ?Mommy Makeover.? Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Mommy Makeover targets women who want their pre-pregnancy bodies back.

Bay Area Dr. Miguel Delgado says, " The Mommy Makeover is causing a lot of excitement with the women in my practice as the word is getting out about the tremendous results of their cosmetic procedures".

The Mommy Makeover procedure consists of a tummy tuck, breast surgery, and liposuction. The breast surgery can be one of many procedures, including a breast augmentation or a breast lift, a combination of both of these, or a breast reduction. These three procedures, in combination, are said to overcome the effects of pregnancy.

With increased safety for anesthesia, understanding of risks and newer surgical techniques many mothers are choosing to undergo the cosmetic surgery package.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) approached Dr. Miguel Delgado to help in producing a video for England and Europe. The purpose of this video is to inform mothers on the other side of the Atlantic about the Mommy Makeover. The Mommy Makeover has only recently been offered in England.

This surgery is fast becoming one of the most popular cosmetic surgery makeovers in the United States, and Europe wants to get on board. The BBC identified this trend, and sought out a top surgeon in the United States who would help them produce an enlightening show for their viewers, and they were very pleased when San Francisco surgeon, Dr. Delgado, agreed to assist them.

One of Dr. Delgado's patients agreed to let the BBC film her treatment. The video follows the patient from before surgery, through the procedure and into recovery. She shares all her feelings regarding her surgery and answers almost all questions women would ask.

The BBC sent their crew from England along with Louise Rednapp, a British Pop Star, TV presenter and model, to host the program. The show was filmed in Dr. Delgado?s Marin office at his private accredited surgery center.

Dr. Delgado is one of the nation's leading cosmetic surgeons and is a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgery, he is located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mommy Makeover procedures are one of his specialties. He has his own fully accredited surgery center and two offices located in, San Francisco and Marin.
