Hair Replacement Surgery

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure used to treat baldness or hair loss. Typically, tiny patches of scalp are detached from the back and sides of the head and rooted in the bald spots in the front and top of the head. 
 
One out of three men and one in five women, the hair loss affects. It caused due to multitude of factors, such as hereditary male pattern baldness, hormonal changes in women, stress, accidents, burns and illness. Hair replacement surgery can now restore hair growth and fill out thin spots.
 
Hair replacement surgery will give patient thicker hair. It will not transform the rest of the body, restore the energy levels patient had when were younger or change the way other people treat patient.
 
Hair replacement candidates should have healthy hair growth at the back and sides of the head to serve as donor areas. Donor areas are the places on the head from which grafts and flaps are taken. Some other factors like hair color, texture and waviness or curliness may also affect the cosmetic result.

Due to mini-grafts is usually the surgical treatment of choice for filling-in thinning areas; good women?s for this procedure should have thick hair growth at the back of the head. Mini-grafts are harvested from this thick area and replanted in thinning areas to create a fuller look. Occasionally flap and tissue growth procedures may be used if the individual is judged to be a good candidate.

Doctor should also check medical conditions that could cause problems during or after surgery, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, blood clotting problems, or the tendency to form too much marks patient must be sure to tell the surgeon if he smoke or are taking any drugs or medications, especially aspirin or other drugs that affect clotting.
 
Using the local sedation, flaps and tissue growth is done with general anesthesia. Fill in balding areas with a patient's own hair using a variety of techniques including scalp reduction, strip grafts, tissue growth and scalp flaps. The hair replacement surgery has some side effects like temporary achy, tight scalp, abnormal look in early stages. There are inherent risks in any surgical undertaking, but hair replacement surgery is considered one of the safest procedures. 
 
Patient is recovered within two or three days, depending on procedure patient will get the final look.
