Botox

Botox Cosmetic is a simple, non surgical, treatment that can temporarily smooth severe frown lines between the brows from 18 to 65 years of age group. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Botox cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time. Botox Cosmetic is a protein complex, which contains the same toxin that causes food poisoning.

A few tiny injections and within days there can be a remarkable improvement in the moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. Botox is injected with a very tiny needle. After Botox injection, the muscles will be relaxed and the skin will smooth out over about 5 days. The effect usually lasts about six months and can be repeated when needed. There are very few side effects in this procedure. While a small amount of brow or lid droop is possible, it is unusual and can usually be avoided by not treating the area just above the outer portion of the brow. If it does happen, it goes away by itself.

This is originally used for treating nervous twitch of the eyelid muscles. It was discovered that the crow?s feet, frown lines and forehead creases can be flattened dramatically. Neck Bands can sometimes be helped. Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic mini treatments in these days. This procedure can take a very few minutes and requires no anesthesia or recovery. Overall, the vast majorities of patients love this quick fix and return for a Botox boost as soon as the wrinkles begin to reappear.

In clinical trials, nearly 90 percent of men and women were surveyed and rated the improvement in the appearance of frown lines between their brows as moderate to better in 1 month after the treatment.

Botox injections are the fastest growing cosmetic procedure in the industry, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). In 2001, more than 1.6 million people received injections, an increase of 46 percent over the previous year. More popular than breast enhancement surgery and a potential blockbuster, Botox is regarded by some as the ultimate fountain of youth. A million people have been treated with FDA approved Botox® Cosmetic.
