Regain Your Shape after Pregnancy

Women experiment several changes in their bodies during pregnancy: their breasts lose their shape and sag; stretch marks appear in the abdomen, excess skin and fatness, the labia is damaged and the color of the skin color. Fortunately, modern technology and plastic surgery advances offer you a number of ways to return to your previous shape correcting all these physical changes and making you feel happy again.

During pregnancy, milk glands in the breasts swell and replace fatty tissue, but after childbirth, these glands shrink and leave an empty space in the breasts that make them look sag. Through a breast augmentation procedure a plastic surgeon can return your breasts to their previous shape. The incisions are made to keep the scars as inconspicuous as possible in the breast crease, around the nipple, or in the armpit. Additionally, the sagging can be corrected via a ?mastopexy?, or breast lifting, which consists of tightening the skin on the lower part of the breasts, lifting and firming them.

Stretch marks and excess skin in the abdomen can be treated with lipectomy, a procedure that can remove the "pooch" of excess skin that lies below your navel and get rid of the stretch marks. Also, it is common for the stomach muscles to separate when holding an expanding uterus and fail to reconnect after childbirth. Lipectomy repairs this condition improving dramatically the figure of women. Another common procedure for women after pregnancy is the liposuction. Sometimes, it is more difficult for mothers to lose weight after having a child and fat is especially hard to lower in certain spots like the thighs, buttocks and upper arms. Liposuction can re-shape the body and remove the fat from those places easily; the results last long if you maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly.

In addition, many women tear the labia (the opening of the vagina) during the vaginal delivery. This can be repaired with a labioplasty, a simple procedure that requires 1 to 2 hours under local or general anesthetic and that has a recovery time of only a few days.

Finally, changes in the skin pigmentation, also known as chloasma are often present during pregnancy. Some studies suggest that up to three of four women may develop these changes; which are characterized by a blotchy brown increase in pigment. It can be treated with bleaching agents such as hydroquinone or by laser surgery.
